Happy Hump Day, guys! This won’t be a super long post but I wanted to jump on here real quick and share a styling tip regarding these ADORABLE trousers! So basically, at 5’3″, I’m kind of a shorty. And most times I find it difficult to find jeans, especially cropped jeans to fit me, as were the case with these high-waisted, denim pants. My solution? 5 inch chunky heels!! No seriously, it elongates your legs and allows the pants to look as though they’re sitting exactly where they’re supposed to! Definitely a must, especially, if the pants are wide leg! Now, if you’re a couple inches taller then by all means wear them with a pair of cute sandals or even some chucks or vans! But sadly, it’s just not the case for me 😦 I also decided to pair them with a little halter top to give a look a retro vibe, which we all know I love! ❤

So does anyone else have this problem? If so, what’s your solution to the cropped pant tragedy??! ❤

I know it’s Monday and you assume it’s going to suck, but according to statistics, there will be 5,000 weddings, 10,000 child births, and 42 million hugs occurring today. Also, today there will be at least 4 people who win multimillion dollar lotteries, 600 people will get promotions at work, and 3,000 people will lose their virginity. There will also be 600 dogs adopted, 35,000 balloons sold, and 8,000 skittles sold, plus the words ‘I love you’ will be said over 9 million times. So again, I know today’s Monday and you assume it’s going to suck but just smile, because according to statistics, it should actually be a really nice day. – unknown ❤

Plus, it’s summer! and a week full of sunshine means a week full of beach days!! Enjoy! ❤

Today feels sad. Not one, but two … in one week. The heaviness that lingers in the knowing and unknowing of what one is going through, their minds in their darkest moments is now front and center and can no longer be ignored.  People of success can be tortured too and if any lesson is learned from the passings of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain and many others, is that depression does not discriminate. I have friends and family who I watch suffer at the thought of giving into a life they no longer want and as I sit back and painfully watch them self destruct I wonder when I’ll get that phone call. As human beings filled with love it’s our duty to keep a watchful eye, to listen, and let the people who matter to us, not go a day without them knowing how much they’re loved and appreciated. I know my eyes are now wide open, as well as my heart. ❤

After much contemplating I decided to post the above pictures with this message I’m trying to send out. As I was speaking with my daughter yesterday and we were talking about the unfortunate passing of Kate Spade it was mentioned how without even realizing, we too were depressed before we moved to San Diego. Obviously, it wasn’t as severe, but it’s like you don’t even realize until you take yourself out of the situation your in and you notice your heart feels enlightened and full. For me, I needed the ocean. I needed a different way of life, a change, diversity, culture. I feel grateful because I have a family who was feeling the same way, who each supported one another to make the move and not fear change. So many others feel stuck in their lives and over time that can lead to depression. I speak from experience when I say stop, take a deep breath, and talk to someone. It’s ok to feel however you are, feel hard, dig deep … just don’t get stuck there. ❤

Taste The Rainbow.

“One morning she woke up different. Done with trying to figure out who was with her, against her, or walking down the middle because they didn’t have the guts to pick a side. She was done with anything that didn’t bring her peace. She realized that opinions were a dime a dozen, validation was for parking, and loyalty wasn’t a word but a lifestyle. It was on this day that her life changed. And not because of a man, or a job, but because she realized life was way too short to leave the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket.” – unknown ❤

Guys, it’s Friday and I couldn’t be more excited to do absolutely nothing ALL WEEKEND LONG!! For the first time in months we have no plans, no visitors, no commitments, nothing to look forward to and it’s wonderful. I love when family and friends visit and I get to show off this beautiful city we moved to nearly two years ago but all the back to back running has worn me out and it’s time to relax! It looks like we’re going to get a break this week from the May Gray / June Gloom saga as the sun will be shining non stop! So I imagine I’ll be laying on the beach for the next few days and who can be mad about that! ❤

On a different note, I’m thinking of writing a post featuring my current favorite summer reads! I have always loved reading and recently have read a few really great books I’d love to share with my followers. My ultimate genre of storytelling is true crime / psychological thrillers however, mystery in general is my jam! What about you? Do you read as a hobby? If so, what kind of storytelling do you like? DM me your thoughts! I’d love to read what you have to say. ❤

This look was giving me all spring / summer feels the other day when the sun decided to actually come out and play! If you’ve been following for a while you must know how much I love wearing the soft, beautiful color, blush. Pairing it with white jeans really makes the color pop while keeping the look clean and crisp, if that’s makes sense at all lol. Anyway, I think what I love most about this look is adding the brown details like my super favorite hat of all time, the classic Tory Burch leather sandals, and the vintage bag we’ve been endlessly lusting over the past couple of years. All the neutral colors combine gives this outfit a soft feel which makes me feel beautiful when wearing it … and isn’t that just the best feeling? ❤

Happy Thursday, guys! The weekend is almost here and so are my parents! Sunday, my mom and step-dad are flying here from the midwest and it’ll be my dad’s first trip to Cali! What better city for him to visit than San Diego!! Because of this I might be a little absent on social media but I’ll do my best to keep everyone posted on our adventures if you’d like to follow along ❤

So this is kinda funny .. I bought this jacket at our local Goodwill here in Imperial Beach,  last weekend when my daughters and I decided to do our usual girls day, thrift store shopping. Since I bought this jacket, styled it, and photographed it I’ve seen a few other bloggers wearing the same exact style of this outfit! I love that feeling when you’ve created an outfit from your own personal taste and then see other like-minded creatives putting together the same look! This jacket is ZARA and I would assume older, so to see it still on my feed is awesome. I always say classic pieces are key to a great wardrobe and you can’t get any more classic than stripes!! ❤

I also want to add that this entire outfit was found and bought at thrift stores! The blazer, shoes, bag, shorts, everything except the Movado watch! Which just goes to show that you don’t have to spend tons of money to put together a really great look ❤

Whoa, that was quite a break! And a much needed one at that! I took some time off, I’ve been doing that here and there lately. Maybe, it’s coming with age but recently I’ve been a little in my head about how I spend my time. I’ve worked hard, really hard for years and I’ve finally gotten to a place in life where when needed, I can take some time and focus on what really keeps me thriving in life. For me, that’s my husband, my family and friends, and some great R&R when possible! I’m by no means spoiled, just a little older and maybe a little wiser ❤

So this years birthday was a big one! If you follow along you’ve probably read me going on and on about this “milestone” bday vacay and I must say, it was everything I had dreamed of AND more! My man and I kicked off the first two days in Waikiki Beach, eating amazing food, enjoying amazing weather, meeting interesting people … The water was so blue and warm, less salty than what we’re used to. The weather warm and breezy with just enough dampness in the air to keep my hair in beautiful natural waves (not shown in the photos above lol) ❤

My next few posts will be about this trip and what it meant to me personally and to also my marriage since this is our first alone trip in eight years, damn kids! I hope you follow along on our journey in paradise and maybe you’ll find yourself there soon ❤
