Heeelllllooooo Friday! Not that I have any major, exciting plans or anything, but it’s still nice that it’s the weekend and the time is available to be spontaneous and find a little adventure <3

I’m posting this throwback today as a reminder to myself of how productive this last year has been. This picture was taken a year ago and so much has happened! First of all, I want to start by saying how grateful I am for how far I’ve come with everything in life, my blog, my marriage, my kids, etc … This past year I’ve had the pleasure to work with a few brands I’ve admired for the longest. I also made myself a media kit and learned to be proactive in seeking collaborations rather than sitting back and waiting for them to come to me. That was a HUGE step for me as I sometimes struggle with showing vulnerability for fear of rejection. I’ve also learned what I like and don’t like about the blogger/influencer life which I think, is important to explore given the easy misconception that everything about it is wonderful all the time, because it’s not. I’ve had moments of doubt, disappointment, reluctance, and even thoughts of quitting due to the ever long process of this type of business. But all those feelings are lessons learned and when I take a moment to look back at my accomplishments, all I really feel is gratitude and motivation. I have to remind myself from time to time that what I’m trying to accomplish here is much more than just styling outfits and taking pictures. I want to inspire women to reinvent themselves when the urge strikes. And in a world where bloggers in their 30’s consider themselves “old” someone has to speak up and say “hey, I exist! I’m “middle-aged” and I like to dress up, I like to feel sexy, I like to be adventurous.” Those qualities in a women doesn’t make her vain. I don’t do this business for attention or to show off what I have. I do it to empower women to be exactly who they want to be. I’m almost forty years old and a mother of four, almost grown children who I have put first for the past 21 years. I’m finding my stride and exploring new possibilities in life, opening doors I never thought would be possible for a young mother like myself from a small town in the midwest, but it’s happening … and for that I am so grateful <3

Gratitude is a powerful process for shifting your energy and bringing more of what you want into your life. Be grateful for what you already have and you will attract more good things.   – The Secret <3
