Wow, what a weekend! So my hubby and I spent our Saturday night listening to the AMAZING sounds of The Manhattan Transfer, a group we had never heard of before and now feel like we can’t live without! This awesome jazz group consisting of Tim Hauser, Janis Siegel, Cheryl Bentyne, Alan Paul, obviously from Manhattan, has been around since the seventies and has won 10 Grammy’s! I encourage everyone to check them out the next time they grace the stage at The San Diego Symphony. And in the meantime, you  can check out the upcoming concerts and events here. With the beautiful architecture and glamorous asthetic, your date night is sure not to disappoint! So what’s the word Sandy Eggo? Has anyone else been? Did you love it as much as us??! ❤

Winter Wardrobe Transitioning Tips.

Hey, guys! So spring is right around the corner and if you’re anything like me you’ve already started rummaging through your closet pulling your favorite winter pieces in hopes of styling them for spring. Oh you haven’t? Ok, well let me give you a few tips for doing just that!

First of all, keep your pants on! I love how easily a fall/winter pant can transition to warmer months simply by changing your shoes. In the fall I wore these pants (above) with an oxford. In the winter I wore them with booties. For the spring I’ll wear them with a short heel (like above) and in the summer I’ll wear them with a t-shirt and flip-flops. ❤

Second, sweaters! Don’t puttem’ away yet! Especially here on the west coast when the temps drop in the evenings or when the sun disappears behind the clouds, you’ll definitely want something to throw on. It’s totally acceptable to wear big comfy sweaters with cute denim cutoffs! Just one of the many reasons I love living in San Diego. ❤

Third, scarves! I know sounds a little crazy and obviously not all scarves will work but a lot will! Let me give you a couple of examples: When the weather starts warming up and I feel as though I can wear a tank top during the sunny days a lot of times I like to keep a scarf in my bag so I can drape it over my shoulders like a shawl. Much easier to put on and take off and also easier than a sweater or jacket to stash in a purse with the suns out to play. Also I love using my smaller, thinner, scarves as a head wrap! Scarves are literally one of the most versatile accessories you can own, don’t be afraid to get creative! ❤

Fourth, mix it up! Start pairing those flirty, floral spring dresses with your fall / winter jackets. I love wearing a floral, whimsy, bohemian style dress and then draping a leather moto jacket or a denim jacket over my shoulders! It’s literally the best way to start introducing your spring wardrobe into these sometimesy , weird weather temps!

My last tip of this post is to be yourself! You’re in charge of who you are and what you wear! Which basically means that the one major rule to transitioning your fall / winter wardrobe to spring / summer months is, there are no rules! Take it from a person who loves the “wtf is she wearing moments”, always be yourself ❤

Reflection.

Happy Tuesday, guys! So I spent the last couple of days not spending much time on social media and I just want to say how important it is to do that from time to time. As a blogger and social media influencer it’s easy to get caught up on the web by watching what goes on in everyone else’s lives. I’m the first to admit that I love watching everyone’s weekend getaways and night’s out but it’s so easy to miss out on what’s going on right in front of your face, and so I took a little break! I have an amazing life, husband, and kids who once in a while deserve my undivided attention and that’s ok. It doesn’t mean I’m not a hustler, it just means I’m human. ❤

Spring Accessories.

Ahh, spring is right around the corner and I’m excited for all the new (and old) fashion trends! Right now the weather is still a little chilly here in San Diego so wearing a light weight denim jacket is almost a must! I’m lucky enough to have an amazing, talented mom who hooked me up with a sweet branding on my thrift store BCBG find! Seriously, she’s the best ❤

Obviously, my Lack Of Colors hat isn’t going anywhere but on my head for the upcoming warmer months. This beaut literally goes with every. single. thing. in my closet and I’m excited for all the pairings that’s going to be happening with my spring wardrobe ❤

The palm earrings, a total statement piece and outfit game changer …. enough said ❤

I scored these super retro DVF sunnies at Nordstrom Rack a couple of weeks ago and haven’t taken them off since. You’ll being seeing a lot of these in the upcoming months. Sorry, not sorry ❤

The bag, the infamous IT bag for the past couple of years doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon! I L.O.V.E. this bag. So here’s my story about it … Way hard to get a hold of one with usually a waiting list of at least 6 months, but if you’re lucky you can find them here and there on a few resale sights. You can now buy it from the link I’m providing below  … I found mine on eBay which is basically my go to when things I love have been discontinued or sold out. The brand you’re seeing every blogger carry is Cult Gaia. I love this brand for their retro, beachy, boho style but, mine is not. Mine is a true vintage bag which of course, you know me, makes me heart it even more ❤

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetIt’s Friday, guys and this new fave dress of mine has me walking into the weekend like … Seriously though, can Topshop make a better dress that currently fits San Diego’s bipolar weather?? This one shoulder beauty with the high front slit, and wrap waist is truly a dream come true and has me thinking of all the places I can wear it! Weddings, date night, basically anywhere! And I must say, I’m feeling very Francis (from HBO’s Divorce) in it. Anybody else love that show?? ❤

It’s rare that I find the perfect pair of jeans. Even more so when it’s bell bottoms you’ve been searching for, but I’ve done just that! Billabong has created the most comfortable, soft, stretchy jeans I’ve ever wore! As usual I’m forced to wear 5 inch platforms due to my 5’3″ frame but I don’t mind! I purchased these online but if you happen to be in the San Diego area and want to check them out in person, you can totally do so at the Billabong store at Las Americas near the border. Need some help trying on and picking out coordinating tops? Ask for Lexie (my daughter) she’ll hook you up! ❤

So, how’s everyone’s weekend going? Mine has been great! But after a long week of working out and eating clean plus, hanging out with Drue all day yesterday, my body and mind are both tired! So I’m spending my Sunday relaxing and browsing Pinterest trying to gain some inspiration to revamp my living area. I love, love the mid-century modern, eclectic look and since we already have a few mid-century pieces I’m definitely going to build around that. Our walls are freshly painted white, we have a leather sofa, and a mid-century modern dresser as a tv stand, so, so far, so good! I’m thinking a small table set and a moroccan rug will make a huge difference so that’s next on my list. I’ll post pics as I’m getting things together but until then you can enjoy these amazing, inspirational areas from Pinterest posted above ❤
