Happy Hump Day, guys! In case you don’t follow me on Instagram and have missed my instastories you may not know that I’m planning a weekend getaway with my youngest daughter Lexie, sadly Drue can’t make it 😦 Anyway, this will be our first time going and we’re excited to explore all PS has to offer. ❤

When I think of Palm Springs I think of retro glam, Mid Century Modern EVERYTHING and tons of cute, Instagramable spots! My dream come true!!! I also imagine most everything being pink and green lol so I guess that’s what I had on my mind today when doing this quick little shoot! To say I’m excited is an understatement and to be able to share the experience with non other than my super fashionable partner in crime makes this trip all the more memorable! I’m counting down the days and you should be too! You can follow along on my instastories on instagram beginning Friyay and I’ll do my best to post to FB and Twitter too! Winter Wardrobe Transitioning Tips.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Hey, guys! So spring is right around the corner and if you’re anything like me you’ve already started rummaging through your closet pulling your favorite winter pieces in hopes of styling them for spring. Oh you haven’t? Ok, well let me give you a few tips for doing just that!

First of all, keep your pants on! I love how easily a fall/winter pant can transition to warmer months simply by changing your shoes. In the fall I wore these pants (above) with an oxford. In the winter I wore them with booties. For the spring I’ll wear them with a short heel (like above) and in the summer I’ll wear them with a t-shirt and flip-flops. ❤

Second, sweaters! Don’t puttem’ away yet! Especially here on the west coast when the temps drop in the evenings or when the sun disappears behind the clouds, you’ll definitely want something to throw on. It’s totally acceptable to wear big comfy sweaters with cute denim cutoffs! Just one of the many reasons I love living in San Diego. ❤

Third, scarves! I know sounds a little crazy and obviously not all scarves will work but a lot will! Let me give you a couple of examples: When the weather starts warming up and I feel as though I can wear a tank top during the sunny days a lot of times I like to keep a scarf in my bag so I can drape it over my shoulders like a shawl. Much easier to put on and take off and also easier than a sweater or jacket to stash in a purse with the suns out to play. Also I love using my smaller, thinner, scarves as a head wrap! Scarves are literally one of the most versatile accessories you can own, don’t be afraid to get creative! ❤

Fourth, mix it up! Start pairing those flirty, floral spring dresses with your fall / winter jackets. I love wearing a floral, whimsy, bohemian style dress and then draping a leather moto jacket or a denim jacket over my shoulders! It’s literally the best way to start introducing your spring wardrobe into these sometimesy , weird weather temps!

My last tip of this post is to be yourself! You’re in charge of who you are and what you wear! Which basically means that the one major rule to transitioning your fall / winter wardrobe to spring / summer months is, there are no rules! Take it from a person who loves the “wtf is she wearing moments”, always be yourself ❤

Valentine’s Day is only three days away!! Unlike most bloggers who are posting V-Day inspired outfits and gift guides for your significant other, I’m not. I know, I know, maybe that makes me lame and maybe some of you are wondering what my Beardo and I do for lovers day and probably most of you could give a shit less, but I’m going to give you my two cents on how I feel about this day and what it means to my relationship.

For starters, I think it’s important to start this little convo by saying that I’m madly in love with my husband and have been since the moment we met. Ok, well that’s kinda stretching it lol I’ve been in love with him since the moment I realized his persistency was not going to stop anytime soon and I should give him a shot. It took like two seconds and I was deeply in love with the man of my dreams ❤ I think it’s also important to say that we’ve been together now for 13 years (married for almost 8) which I believe puts us in OG status 🙂 Annnyyyyywaaayyyy, I loooovvvvve Valentines Day! But what I love most about it, is the cheesiness. I could care less about over the top dates and extravagant gifts. I’m perfectly happy with all gifts being purchased at Wal-Mart. Seriously! Chocolates, stuffed animals, cards, candy, I’m good with all that! Surprised? You shouldn’t be. Honestly, I think it’s because my Beardo makes me feel loved everyday! Today I woke up to breakfast made, topped with a white rose on my plate. Twice this week, I woke up to love letters, one in our kitchen and the other in my MacBook when I opened it. He is a true romantic and I adore every bit of him. Whether we’re dining at a nice restaurant or eating pizza on the beach this Valentines Day, the feeling will always be the same … grateful. I remember times when I wished for a man just like YOU (I know you’re reading this) and I will never take you for granted, you’re yummy in every way I’ve ever imagined. ❤

Can you get any more rocker chic than (faux) leather pants and black pumps?!! I think not. This look is from a few weeks ago when the weather was a little cooler. Some of you aren’t as fortunate with mild temps as we San Diegans, so I thought I’d share a little cold weather wear just for you ❤

Happy Monday, guys! (although to me it feels like Sunday). Anyway, I’ve been thinking lately about how far I’ve come with my blogging. I remember a few years ago, actually like 7, when I started an Interior Styling blog called Revamped By Me. The blog focused mainly on DIY projects, usually centered around paint since my husband and I own a painting company and I had somewhat of a background in interior styling. Unfortunately, that blog was short lived since I’m a mom of four, business owner, etc and it was a challenge to actually complete a damn project! But of course, getting dressed isn’t. Fashion’s always been my first love and design my second, so I thought why not post about all the things I love with my main focus being fashion and that’s when Live By Ronni was born … and then it wasn’t. This was around 4 years ago and as soon as I bought the website I instantly felt embarrassed. I feared I was going to be judged even though anyone who knows me wouldn’t be surprised by it. Never the less I gave in to my fears and put it on hold for like a whole year 😦 However, throughout that time the ambition never went away. I was always trying to find someone to help me build a website and teach me how to edit photos, eventually I said fuck it, what am I really waiting for? and I figured it out myself! I realized that I was wasting time, not because I needed someone to “teach” me how to do things but because I was worried of what “everyone” would say or think of me. Even up until I moved to San Diego I worried each time I took photos that I would run into someone I know and they would think I was too old, vain, or conceded. I started figuring out quickly that I simply don’t care what others think, I can’t let my insecurities get the best of me, this journey was for me. ❤

Now, don’t get me wrong, I know those people are out there. The one’s I never hear from but I’m sure are reading every post, in some way judging how or what I’m writing and that’s ok, also, none of my business. I guess all I want is to enjoy something that’s truly my own and to inspire others to follow their dreams no matter what others think! Live By Ronni is something from my creative mind and thus far has been an absolute pleasure to work on. ❤

Dream Of Californication.

Forever I had dreamed of spending afternoons like this. Walking by the ocean, smelling the salt, feeling the sun on my face as the breeze whips my hair around. I won’t say I never thought it was possible, because I always knew it was. No matter where I was in life, no matter where I was living, I always longed for California. Having spent my early years of life in Ventura I knew what I was missing out on. Daydreaming of a life I craved, all a long knowing others were taking theirs for granted. There was a fifteen year time span where I didn’t see the ocean and when I finally did, it wasn’t the Pacific. All oceans are wonderous, mysterious, and wild, but it was the Pacific that stole my heart and it wasn’t until I moved here that I finally got it back. ❤

Happy Friday, guys! So, while I was visiting MO last weekend I packed several winter outfits, mostly coats thinking I’d take advantage of the cold weather and finally be able to post some actual winter content for you, well that didn’t happen. I found myself staying warm indoors as much as possible, only freezing my ass off once to take pics, as you might have read in my previous post. So now that I’m back home (San Diego) I’m going to do whatever it takes to still bring you that cold weather content, even if it means wearing a coat and scarf in 75 degree temps 🙂

Basically, everything in the outfit is old (besides the scarf, thanks Jess!) and I love it. The coat I bought on sale at H&M a few years ago, the boots (Timberland) I scored at Goodwill a few weeks ago (for $5.99!)  and the bag is a discontinued Marc by Marc Jacobs bag I also bought at Goodwill! But what I love about this look is that every piece is classic and not necessarily trendy. You’ll always be able to find a long gray coat no matter the decade, as well as brown leather ankle boots and a black crossbody bag. Being stylish doesn’t necessarily mean being trendy and when you take classic, random items from your closet and throw them together, magic happens. You don’t have to have tons of money and carry the newest $2,500 GUCCI bag to have style. Don’t get me wrong, I love those bags too! But labels don’t define the way I dress and they never will. When I wear a label it’s out of pure love for the art of the designer and the brand not the “look what I’m wearing, look how much money I have” shit (puke). Anything I buy that’s considered expensive has been strategically planned, probably researched, contemplated, and saved for! I have four kids, 3 in college, I don’t know how to live any other way! Basically, the moral of this rambled on story is to be yourself when dressing yourself! Style comes in all forms whether you’re a Label Lover or a Goodwill Shopper or Both (like me), dress for YOU, not for others ❤

P.S. Because some of these items are older and I can’t find exact links for them, I’ve attach dupes for your shopping needs ❤
