Happy Friday, guys! So, while I was visiting MO last weekend I packed several winter outfits, mostly coats thinking I’d take advantage of the cold weather and finally be able to post some actual winter content for you, well that didn’t happen. I found myself staying warm indoors as much as possible, only freezing my ass off once to take pics, as you might have read in my previous post. So now that I’m back home (San Diego) I’m going to do whatever it takes to still bring you that cold weather content, even if it means wearing a coat and scarf in 75 degree temps 🙂

Basically, everything in the outfit is old (besides the scarf, thanks Jess!) and I love it. The coat I bought on sale at H&M a few years ago, the boots (Timberland) I scored at Goodwill a few weeks ago (for $5.99!)  and the bag is a discontinued Marc by Marc Jacobs bag I also bought at Goodwill! But what I love about this look is that every piece is classic and not necessarily trendy. You’ll always be able to find a long gray coat no matter the decade, as well as brown leather ankle boots and a black crossbody bag. Being stylish doesn’t necessarily mean being trendy and when you take classic, random items from your closet and throw them together, magic happens. You don’t have to have tons of money and carry the newest $2,500 GUCCI bag to have style. Don’t get me wrong, I love those bags too! But labels don’t define the way I dress and they never will. When I wear a label it’s out of pure love for the art of the designer and the brand not the “look what I’m wearing, look how much money I have” shit (puke). Anything I buy that’s considered expensive has been strategically planned, probably researched, contemplated, and saved for! I have four kids, 3 in college, I don’t know how to live any other way! Basically, the moral of this rambled on story is to be yourself when dressing yourself! Style comes in all forms whether you’re a Label Lover or a Goodwill Shopper or Both (like me), dress for YOU, not for others ❤

P.S. Because some of these items are older and I can’t find exact links for them, I’ve attach dupes for your shopping needs ❤

I absolutely love finding new ways to style old pieces that I’ve had for some time. Pairing denim with a flowy maxi dress and even better, mixing prints, florals with leopard, has become my new favorite style! This dress is a full front button up which would also allow me to leave it completely unbuttoned and where it more as a kimono, which I definitely plan to do in the near future!

I chose to wear high-waisted stretch skinnies with this look in order to give the peek-a-boo of a long, lean leg. And the high-waist allows me to unbutton the dress more, giving the illusion of a top rather than just a maxi dress.

Here’s my tip when trying to achieve this look: Use a dress that is capable of showing some serious skin! High slits on both sides or even just on side will give the dress a flowy look and allow the denim to pop through. Get creative! Don’t be afraid to try new styles, being unique is part of the beauty ❤

Fall Staples.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Happy Saturday!! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend doing whatever it is that allows their heart to be happy 🙂 My husband and I have plans to browse the local Swap Meet today. Feeling the warm California sun, sipping on Starbucks, and hunting for treasures. But before we head out the door, I wanted to share with you a few fall staples from my closet I’m currently lusting over.

First of all, I found this uhhmazing Marc Jacobs leather clutch at Nordstrom Rack and instantly fell in love, like hard core. The price was originally $300 and I scooped it up for $160 … big savings! I tried hard to link the exact same one but with no luck. That happens from time to time when shopping at places like Nordstrom Rack, but I’ve done my best to provide a link with a similar clutch.

Second, these boots!! Found these cutie booties at Forever21 and instantly knew I needed them. I’m a believer in olive being a neutral, especially in the cooler seasons. The lace up details provide character while the chunky heel provides comfort. So basically these boots are an all around win win.

As most of you know (I’ve talked about it a lot) I love a good statement piece and this faux fur scarf from H&M is just that! Easy put on/ take off and adds instant glam to any outfit … definitely a must have!

The sunnies are my year rounders. I love them and that’s basically it, these Tory Burch Sunglasses won’t be retiring anytime soon 🙂

Last, but for sure not least, is the newest edition to my wardrobe, my awesome Jord Wood Watch! I love, love , love it! It’s light in weight but heavy in presence. This cute little watch has new outfit ideas consistently running through my mind! I’ll be doing a much more thorough blog post on this new accessory next week, so stay tuned!

So I know fall is right around the corner and everyone is starting to pull out their cozy sweaters and earth tone colors to showcase what this years trends will be, but I don’t know, I’m just not feeling it yet! Maybe it’s because here in San Diego, it’s still 75 and sunny! The transitioning of seasons will probably be something that’ll take a little time getting used to fashion wise. Trust me, this Mid-West girl isn’t complaining!! I know the temps will drop a little (not much though) and I’ll be pulling out leather jackets and thigh high boots like everyone else, but for now, I’m sticking with my cutoffs …

Everybody has a favorite casual outfit. In the winter, mine is definitely sweats. In the fall it’s jeans, a blazer, and boots. In the summer it’s a sundress and sandals (because it’s so f’ing hot here) and in the spring it’s a sweater and cutoffs. The sweater and cutoff outfits are easy, period. A baggy sweater is cozy, forgiving, and comfortable. The cutoffs, well, they take no effort at all. To dress an outfit like this up, again, takes little to no effort whatsoever. Add some sandals, a cross body, some sunnies, and you’re done son!

You’ve seen me wear these shorts before, actually, no definitely, more than once if you’re not new to my blog. They’re my FAVORITE!! I bought them at Muse Clothing here in Columbia, downtown in The District. Muse is awesome AND they’re almost always stocked with tons of retro cutoffs and boyfriend jeans that have me drooling every time I walk in the door! Anyway, this isn’t the first time these Levi’s have been seen on here and I’m positive it won’t be the last. The sweater is from H&M, as well as the bag. I don’t know, there’s just something about a baggy white sweater that screams spring to me. The sunnies, you’ve seen them a million times on here too because, well, they’re another favorite of mine! (They’re also majorly on SALE) Now the real score to this outfit are the sandals I’m wearing. I love the worn rose gold effect they have, plus they cuff and buckle around the ankle giving the outfit more character. I found these cuties the other day along with two other pairs at Marshalls. I couldn’t believe it, all size 7 and all LA Hearts! Oh yea, and they were only $9.99 a pair … my heart was content 🙂 Links to this outfit below …

This Romper.

Yes, I’ve featured this cute little romper on here before, about a year ago, but I want to show you how versatile it can be! In the past I’ve worn it out with heels and a clutch, like this …

but it’s also great for a casual day out with sandals and a fedora … this particular day was spent at the beach …

A Little Glam With A Touch Of Plaid.

Ok, so who doesn’t love a good plaid and sequin combo?! I mean, it’s the perfect way to mix  a lot of casual with a lot of glam! And while I totally think lots of sequins and lots of plaid = lots of fab, a touch here and there is pretty cute too. I paired this look with my new, blue, velvet, over-the-knee boots I’ve been dying to share on here and outcome of this outfit kinda had me feelin’ myself …
